"be happy"/ Die Erde ist mein Himmel
DIE ERDE IST MEIN HIMMEL…
Anlässlich einer Zusammenarbeit des Ausstellungsraums „Römer 9“ (Evangelischen Stadtakademie Frankfurt) und der Epiphaniaskirche Frankfurt entstand die Ausstellung „be happy“ 2014. Die Arbeiten LUCID DREAM 1 und 2, sowie die Installation „Die Erde ist mein Himmel“ wurden in einer Kooperation mit dem Künstler Jörg Simon, mit je einer seiner dafür komponierten Soundkollage kombiniert. Zwei der Soundkollagen bestehen aus elektronisch erzeugten Klängen ohne Text, die dritte nimmt direkt Bezug auf das gleichnamige Video und spielt mit Worten: Die Erde ist mein Himmel. Sie werden einem mantraartig zugeflüstert, wenn man den Kirchenraum betritt.
Die Videoarbeit „Die Erde ist mein Himmel…“ wurde gleich am Eingang als Bodenprojektion installiert. Die Arbeit spiegelt das Innere des Kirchendachs, als läge ein Spiegel am Boden. Dannach taucht das Gesicht der Künstlerin auf, die in eine gebrochene Wasseroberfläche blickt. Mit der Hand verwischt sie ihr Gesicht, gleichzeitig kommt man dem Gesicht immer näher, bis man es nicht mehr erkennt, eine weiße Fläche ist zu sehen, die von einem Bild der gleichen Projektion selbst als Projektion am Boden abgelöst wird, bis wieder die weiße Fläche erscheint und man daraufhin die Projektion der Projektion am Boden sieht, die nur noch schemenhaft den Raum erkennen lässt. Plötzlich tritt schwankend ein Mann in die Projektionsfläche und wendet sich entrückt lächelnd nach oben zum Betrachter, ein Anblick berauschten Glücks.
„Be happy“ wirkte als Gesamtinstallation von Bild und Sound und war eine direkte Auseinandersetzung mit Kirchenraum, Glaubenskonzept, sowie Akteuren der Gemeinde.

The exhibition “be happy” 2014 was created on the occasion of a collaboration between the exhibition space “Römer 9” (Evangelische Stadtakademie Frankfurt) and the Epiphaniaskirche Frankfurt. The works LUCID DREAM 1 and 2, as well as the installation “Die Erde ist mein Himmel…” were combined in a cooperation with the artist Jörg Simon, each with a sound collage he composed for it. Two of the sound collages consist of electronically generated sounds without text, while the third refers directly to the video of the same name and plays with words: The earth is my heaven. They are whispered to you like a mantra as you enter the church.
The video work “Die Erde ist mein Himmel…” was installed right at the entrance as a floor projection. The work reflects the interior of the church roof as if a mirror were lying on the floor. The artist’s face then appears, looking into a broken water surface. She blurs her face with her hand, at the same time we get closer and closer to the face until we no longer recognize it, a white surface can be seen, which is replaced by an image of the same projection itself as a projection on the floor, until the white surface appears again and we then see the projection of the projection on the floor, which only allows us to make out the space in a shadowy way. Suddenly, a man steps swaying into the projection surface and turns upwards towards the viewer, smiling rapturously, a sight of intoxicated happiness.
“Be happy” worked as an overall installation of image and sound and was a direct confrontation with the church space, the concept of faith and the actors in the congregation.
